The key idea: «Stihia is you»
«Stihia» festival is a living organism, of which everyone becomes a part. Wind, sand, sun, music, art — there are no boundaries between the creator, the viewer and nature.
Conceptual directions for installations:
– Dissolution in the elements, reinterpretation of the desert.
The object should be felt as a part of the environment, connected with natural elements (wind, sand, light, movement).
The sea was once here, and today it continues to exist through us. It is important to emphasize the transition of states, the interaction of water, air and earth through the form, texture, matter of the installation.
– The energy of interaction. The human being as the center.
An installation can reflect the presence of a person through mirrors, reflections, movement, light, sound, or tactile sensation.
The viewer does not just look, but becomes part of the object — walks through, leaves a trace, sees the change in structure from their presence. Interactivity is important.
– «Mirage in the Dunes»
All installations will be located on a sandy landscape near a ship cemetery. Therefore, the works must be adapted to the environment, resistant to wind and climatic conditions; be vandal resistant.

Stihia is the largest electronic music festival in Central Asia and we will be happy to expand this year’s lineup with new names. If you want to perform on one of the open stages, you need to fill out a form. It is important to note that we don`t cover the costs of logistics, accommodation and fees, but we indicate the selected musicians in the announcements of the general festival lineup.
Important! Artists who are included in the lineup of the main two stages are paid fees. Flights, accommodation and meals are fully covered as well. This open call is specifically about the open deck stage #BackToMuynak (a free stage to visit) and for those young artists who want to showcase their music in a festival performance (for example, those who are already going to Stihia, have long wanted to play at Stihia, want a cool debut on a big stage or just want great promotion of their name).
